Expanding the Foundation Council of the Interchain Foundation (ICF)

We are excited to announce the addition of two remarkable individuals to the Foundation Council (FC) of the Interchain Foundation (ICF) — Josh Cincinnati and Maxime Monod. As we continue our journey towards fostering a more secure, sustainable, and interoperable ecosystem, the new council members bring with them a wealth of knowledge and innovative perspectives that are invaluable in steering the ICF towards our desired future.

The Foundation Council is central to the functioning of the ICF, playing a pivotal role in ensuring that the Foundation’s operations and initiatives align with its mission and values. The FC is instrumental in driving the ICF, steering our strategic direction, and ensuring that we are always moving forward in our continuous pursuit of a decentralized and interconnected blockchain ecosystem.

We wish to express our gratitude to everyone who participated in our recent public recruitment drive. A warm thank you to those who nominated themselves or others, contributing to a diverse and highly qualified pool of candidates. This spirit of community involvement is what empowers us to cultivate a robust, multifaceted, and forward-thinking Foundation Council.

Meet the New Council Members

Josh Cincinnati is an advisor, investor, board member, and privacy advocate in the cryptocurrency industry. In addition to his new role at the Interchain Foundation Council, he currently advises the Sia Foundation, the Twilight Protocol, and the Penumbra Protocol, and sits on the board of the Mina Foundation. Previously, he was the founding Executive Director at the Zcash Foundation. He holds an MBA from Stanford University, and BAs in Political & Social Thought and Mathematics from the University of Virginia. In his free time, he loves to embrace the chaos of raising his three young children, and writes satire as a hobby.

Maxime Monod is the founder and CEO of Twist Lab, a fintech innovation lab specializing in Open Banking and Web3. Prior to Twist Lab, he was active as a CTO in various startups and companies, before becoming a Head of Innovation at a Swiss bank. He holds an MSc in Computer Science and a PhD in Distributed Systems from EPFL. He lectures at the College of Management of Technology (EPFL), among other institutions, in the domain of collaboration models — which usually entails demystifying jargon, a feat much easier than talking about the subject with his 5-year-old daughter. He is also a retired recon company commander, and a happy husband and father. Finally, in his free time, he enjoys trail and marathon running as well as brewing beers with his colleagues (to drink them after the finish line).

We are immensely excited to work alongside Josh and Maxime, drawing upon their insights and expertise as we navigate the evolving landscape of sovereign, interoperable blockchain technology. They will be joining our three existing council members: Brian Crain (President), Ethan Buchman (Vice President) and Fernando Pedone (Council Member).

As the ICF moves forward, we are ever-committed to nurturing a vibrant community and ecosystem. The integration of new minds into the Foundation Council is crucial in bolstering our resilience and adaptability, ensuring that the ICF remains at the forefront of technological innovation and governance excellence.

Let us celebrate this new chapter, and together, we will continue weaving the fabric of a more interconnected blockchain universe.
